Colors mean life to me and they are at the very centre of what I create.
I began painting geometrical shapes in oil while studying classical portrait painting. But I soon became more interested in abstraction, because it is the ultimate challenge and gives a dizzying and false sense of liberty: the liberty is contained by the brush which takes on a life of its own, to construct what was waiting to be created. A feast of energy and the humbling moment of looking at the canvas.
